Looking for best souvenir? Go to "Amezaiku Yoshihara" in Tokyo, and you'd be amazed what they can make from candies!
Amezaiku is a Japanese word for "candy craft". They make tons of animal shaped candies and even portrait ones.
Here's some of their work.
"Amezaiku Yohihara" makes lots of animal shaped candies. Most of them are ready made and sold in their stores but they also make on your order. Just fun to visit their stores but if you are interested in ordering onliest candy, just send them an e-mail with pictures ( at least 4 differenet looking pictures atttached. ) in advance of around 7 days of your visit.
This is how they make human shaped candy. All coloring they use is edible, no worries when you want to eat your avatar!
Unfortunately, english web is not available. So let me put all the information you need to visit their stores or pre-order their candies.

So, I've checked with the store and they take orders for cash and credit card.
To order, you need to send pictures including front, side, back, and possibly different facial expression by e-mail. (smile, sad, angry on your wish.)
Make sure to send e-mail with pictures to them in 7 days advance of receiving at their store.
