The Ryokan (Hotel) Tokyo Yugawara
In Kanagawa prefecture that is right next to Tokyo, there is unique Ryokan (Japanese hotel) called "The Ryokan Tokyo Yugawara".
Ryokan usually means traditional Japanese accommodations that provides good old services and the buildings are old Japanese houses.
At "The Ryokan Tokyo Yugawara" in contrast, is a mixture of good old culture and modern culture.
The Ryokan Tokyo Yugawara
Entrance reminds me Fushimi-Inari. Small garden at the entrance is in the motif of traditional garden which also looks cool.
After passing through the entrance, you will se a large lantern deformed as Kaminari-mon (one looks like Asakusa) and kites, lots of pieces in Japanese culture are deformed which surely get you going.
Types of rooms at the hotel are varied from dormitory to independent ones.
Price of each rooms are quite reasonable. Dormitory types from ¥2,700 ($25) and independent types from around ¥6,000 ($55).
Baths are shared type and individual shower rooms available.
I'd recommend the shower type if you want keep your privacy.
What makes this hotel so special is its entertainment.
There are cosplay service, shodo (calligraphy) learning, tatami creation activity, and so on.
For a limited period, rental charge of cosplay is free if you share it on your SNS.
And for just ¥2,000 ($18), professional camera crew will take your photo with these cosplay.
A picture worth a thousand words. So check it out.
