What makes trip better is wondering around and popping into every shops that looks interesting. But knowing the best shop will always helps.
To me, T-shirts are one of the must buy items when away from home. Not only for own use but for souvenir to my mates and family as well.
Time of stay, especially in abroad, is limited.
Fun mood of the travel mustn't be disturbed by wasting time on finding souvenirs.
By reading this article, you may save your time on finding souvenirs, in terms of finding T-shirts as souvenir.
There is a very nice T-shirts shop at 4th Floor of Haneda airport, called "Omoshiro T-Shirts Ya".

This is a shop where even Japanese want to go to. Nothing like a T with "funny kanji" printed on. It is a struggle not to laugh when I see a guy walking on a street saying "I am pervert" on his chest. (No offense.)
Anyways, this is the shop you want to visit for "proper" T-shirts. You could visit their store both on your arrival and departure because the shop is located at Haneda airport.
