For anyone, whether you are fan of Shinkansen or not, ride on Shinkansen (bullet train) is one of "Must Do". Basically, Shinkansen types are divided into 3: Nozomi, Hikari, and Kodama.
What's the difference?
Nozomi is the fastest and Kodama is the slowest. In other words, Nozomi stops for the least number of stations and Kodama stops for all Shinkansen stations.
If you wish to save money rather than time, take a highway bus which I recommended in previous post.
Compared to highway busses, bullet train cost extra but save your time surprisingly.
