Save money with long distance bus in Japan
Long distance bus.
Some of you may want to save transportation cost and spend it on other things. (Food, hotel, or souvenir maybe?)
Well, you can do so by using search engine for busses in Japan. Here's some of good websites.
This is one of the best web.
*If you are directly typing in its name in search bar, make sure to type in "kosokubus.com". There is a very similar name of website which is run by totally different company. (that is kousokubus.com)
Here's a walkthrough:
1. Go to kosokubus.com and simply enter "Departure", "Destination", and "Date".
2. List of available busses will appear.
3. Choose from the list and click "Detail".
4. Select "Boarding point" and
"Dropping point", enter number of passengers, and click "Continue".
5. Check the box "AGREE" and click "Continue".
6. Log-in, create new account or book as a guest.
7. Pay by credit card and wait for a confirmation e-mail.
8. When you've received the confirmation e-mail, make sure to save it on your phone or device.
(If you are not planning to rental a SIM in Japan, take a screenshot!)
May not be simple as the above but they offer really cheap travel.
This website is run by willer group and offer various type of bus seats, also quite comfy.
For example, they run "INGRESS bus tour" which looks just awesome.
Here's a walkthrough:
1. Go to willerexpress.com and select "One way" or "Round trip", select "Departure", "Destination", "Date", and "Number of passengers".
2. List of available busses with type of seats will appear.
3. Choose from the list and click "Select".
4. Select "Boarding place" and "Arrival place", check the number of passengers and click "Next".
5. At a next page, you may be asked to select from "normal plan" and "WEB deal plan". Select "WEB deal plan" if its shown. (Because its cheaper!)
6. You will be asked to select an option. The option is whether you wish to store your luggage at a bus terminal for ¥500. If you want to store your baggage, click on "Expand details" at left side of the page. Select "Date", "Quantity", check the box "Option details have been confirmed", and click "Next".
7. If you are carrying your luggage with you, click "forward without options".
8. Summary of your booking will be shown. Look over to check and click "add to shopping cart".
9. Click "Reserve" to continue.
10. Log-in as a member or create new account.
11. Pay with your credit card and wait for confirmation e-mail.
12. Print out its detail and bring it with you!
